ACE BAKERY® AND HERO CERTIFIED BURGERS® UNVEIL THEIR PINK BUN CAMPAIGN IN SUPPORT OF THE CANADIAN BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION™ – ONTARIO REGION
TORONTO, Sept. 28, 2015 /CNW/ - Think pink, eat pink! ACE Bakery® and HERO Certified Burgers® have teamed up together in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation- Ontario Region (CBCF), in an effort to help "beet" cancer. From September 28th through October 25th, 2015, diners can visit any HERO Certified Burger location in Ontario and purchase a burger on an ACE Bakery pink bun. The buns get their pink colour from all natural beet juice, which also tastes great.
HERO diners will have the option to upgrade their favourite menu burger to a pink bun, or order the delightful Think Pink Burger, featuring natural beef, raspberry goat cheese, and a pink slaw. For every pink bun sold during the campaign, $1 will be donated to CBCF.
"The ravages of breast cancer affect so many people. At ACE Bakery we feel strongly about finding innovative ways, like the pink bun, to raise funds for breast cancer research with the goal of ending such a terrible disease," states Roy Benin, President of ACE Bakery.
"We are delighted to be partnering with HERO in support of CBCF, two organizations that care as deeply about this cause as ACE Bakery," remarks Benin.
The campaign's tagline cheekily reads: Be a Hero. Let's #BeetCancer together.
"Pink is powerful. It symbolizes a huge commitment for all to find a cure for breast cancer," agrees John F. Lettieri, President of HERO Certified Burgers. "Now at HERO Certified Burgers with ACE Bakery buns, everyone can help while enjoying a pink burger."
Join ACE Bakery and HERO Certified Burgers on Sunday, October 4th, at the CIBC Run for the Cure Toronto site. "Runners, look out for the HERO food truck at the finish line, where we'll be ready with pink sliders in hand," says Lettieri. All donations will continue to benefit CBCF.
"Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Ontario Region is grateful to HERO Certified Burgers, ACE Bakery, and their employees and customers for their passion and commitment to our vision of a future without breast cancer," states Anthony Miceli, VP Development, Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation – Ontario Region. "Funds raised through this initiative enable CBCF to continue to fund relevant, innovative research and support and advocate for the breast cancer community."
