MONTREAL, Oct, 5, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - The Montreal Heart Institute Foundation's Emerging Leaders Committee invites every young professional in Greater Montreal to join them in helping create tomorrow's philanthropic leaders! On Thursday, October 8, engaged leaders will come together at the prestigious Arsenal venue to raise money for the Montreal Heart Institute (MHI) during the #ÀLABONNEPLACE fundraising event, presented by BMO Capital Markets.
Philanthropy is changing and recruiting new donors is always a challenge. With this fundraising event, members of the MHI Foundation's Emerging Leaders Committee want to help young professionals understand how important it is to become active members of society and give back to community.
"It's important for young professionals to become active in their community and realize that they can become agents of social change. Through their actions, they can make great things happen and aid others. It's very rewarding to be able to support specialists who then in turn can save more lives," said Jean-Philippe Towner, President of the MHIF's Emerging Leaders Committee.
The theme for the evening, which promises to be a memorable one, is "personalization". The event will take place this Thursday, October 8 at Arsenal and will include fine cuisine and cocktails provided by restaurants Flyjin Izakaya and Jatoba Montreal. Also present will be celebrity mixologist Romain Cavelier and Henri Saint-Henri, custom tailor company Tailor2go, the popular Drinkerie Ste-Cunégonde, beauty salon Panache and several celebrities including Vanessa Pilon, Léane Labrèche-Dor and Julianne Côté.
All the profits from the #ÀLABONNEPLACE fundraising event will be donated to the Foundation to help the Montreal Heart Institute in its daily fight against cardiovascular disease, the world's leading cause of death. Since its creation in 1977, the Foundation has raised more than $200 million for the Montreal Heart Institute. The MHI is one of the most renowned cardiology centres in the world, giving all Quebeckers access to ultra-specialized care.
