TORONTO, May 26, 2014 /CNW/ - Two decades of celebrating beer – and everything that goes with it – will be on the menu July 25-27 at Toronto's Festival of Beer, brought to you by the Beer Store, at Bandshell Park, Exhibition Place.
What started modestly as a festival offering eight different brews has grown to become Canada's biggest celebration of beer. The 20thanniversary festival will feature more than 300 local to international beers, including some uniquely brewed just for the event.
The tasting options don't end there. The festival is known for its feast of local artisan foods from east coast oysters, to wood fired pizza, to authentic southern BBQ and more. While friends are sipping and tasting, headline Canadian talent will be rocking the Bandshell stage.
"We want to thank everyone who has supported Toronto's Festival of Beer for the past 20 years and to mark this milestone in a bigger and better way than ever before," said Les Murray, President of Beerlicious. "We're grateful to be celebrating with the Beer Store as our presenting sponsor, because they've been behind us all the way."
In terms of growing selections of local and international beers, an increased emphasis on responsible sale and a commitment to reducing waste through award-winning recycling efforts, the Beer Store and the festival have evolved in tandem, said Ted Moroz, President of the Beer Store.
The Beer store offers 420 different brands of beer produced by more than 100 brewers locally and internationally. Since 2000, the number of brewers selling in the Beer Store has nearly doubled.
"The Beer Store congratulates Toronto's Festival of Beer on its 20th anniversary and we're proud to be the presenting sponsor," Moroz said. "This is a great event that allows people to explore the breadth and depth of beers available, learn about brewing, try food pairings, see cooking demonstrations and listen to great music. If you love beer, you'll love being there."
