Benjamin Moore Identifies 2015 Colour Trends, Featuring Monochromatic Colour Designs and Saturated Hues For A Balanced Home
MONTVALE, NJ, Oct. 14, 2014 /CNW/ - Benjamin Moore, North America's favourite paint, colour and coatings brand, today released its highly anticipated 2015 Colour of the Year – Guilford Green HC-116, a stunning silvery green that complements both modern and traditional styles in a seamless manner. In addition to unveiling the Colour of the Year, Benjamin Moore introduced Colour Trends 2015, a curated palette of 23 colours consisting of beautiful green, blue, blush and berry shades that can transform a space. Benjamin Moore continues to be the influential leader in paint colour for homeowners and designers by forecasting colours and combinations that are truly livable and practical for every style and home.
"We chose Guilford Green as our 2015 Colour of the Year because it can be the hero or the highlight in any room, enhancing the architectural identity of a space," said Ellen O'Neill, Creative Director at Benjamin Moore. "Guilford Green is the perfect thread to connect nature, spaces and interiors with colour schemes that signify fresh energy and growth."
Taking cues from trends in fashion, textiles and the arts, the Benjamin Moore Colour Studio team spotted the common thread of balanced palettes and a design sentiment that continued to reflect a sense of optimism. Guilford Green harmoniously complements the Benjamin Moore Colour Trends 2015 palette, which also celebrates the concept of monochromatic colours – using warm, cool, dark and light layers of the same hue – in the home. With a monochromatic colour scheme throughout a floor plan, each room can have a very distinctive look, making it almost imperceptible that there is a single hue at work. Exploring monochromatic colours allows for a fresh and cohesive approach in designing a room as the colour combinations are virtually endless. Employing various sheens creates additional layers of texture in a space.
The Colour Trends 2015 collection features four gorgeous colour families – green, blue, blush and berry. The bold, more saturated hues represent an evolution from the soft pastels that comprised the brand's Colour Trends 2014.
"Homeowners are ready to experiment with colour and are more confident with making unique design choices for the home," added O'Neill. "Within each colour family in the Colour Trends 2015 palette, we offer a spectrum of hues to play with and experiment to find what's right for any home."
