Hotels.com recently awarded more than 6,400 boutique properties in 117 countries worldwide that have achieved an average guest review rating of 4.5 or higher* (out of 5) – 179 of which were in Canada. To determine the initial recipients, Hotels.com analyzed its database of more than 15 million Genuine Guest Reviews, which are verified upon the completion of each guest's stay.
"Whether you're travelling to enjoy the arts, food or music, our guest reviews are a helpful starting point to planning any vacation because they are written by travellers who have actually stayed at the hotels," said Taylor L. Cole, APR, travel expert for Hotels.com. "I like to filter our reviews by trip type like "Family, Business, Romance," and date which gives a better indication of what to expect when checking in."

Hotels.com is also encouraging travellers to share their most memorable hotel accommodations using the #LovedbyGuests hashtag.
* To receive an award, properties must have achieved an average customer review score of 4.5 or higher, based on a minimum of 50 reviews as of January 31, 2015.
**In each province only the top three boutique properties were showcased. Provinces with less than three indicate a lack of inventory meeting the criteria.
