Best November in Hyundai Canada history

47^th consecutive month of sales growth follows Fuel Reimbursement program announcement

MARKHAM, ON, Dec. 3, 2012 /CNW/ - Hyundai Auto Canada Corp. announced today sales of 10,101 units in November, a strong increase of 20% over the same month in 2011, the 47^th consecutive month of year-over-year sales growth, and the best November in company history. Hyundai has sold 128,420 vehicles in Canada year-to-date, a gain of 4.6% relative to the first 11 months last year.

"We view November sales performance as an indicator of the strength of our products and the trust that Canadians have in our brand," said Steve Kelleher, President and CEO of Hyundai Auto Canada. "Despite announcing revised fuel consumption ratings for select vehicles on November 2 and a comprehensive compensation program as a result, customers continue to choose Hyundai vehicles for a variety of reasons, including styling, quality, a long list of must-have features, accessible prices, and strong fuel efficiency."

Kelleher explained a major factor of the company's November sales growth was the performance of the all-new Santa Fe SUV and the European-derived Elantra GT 5-door compact. The Santa Fe and the Elantra GT respectively won the AJAC Best New SUV ($35,000-$60,000) and the AJAC Best New Compact (over $21,000) at the end of October. "We're also excited about the future as our new, long wheelbase, 7-passenger Santa Fe XL will be arriving at dealerships early in the New Year," he added.

Hyundai Auto Canada is also pleased to announce the results of the first Hyundai Hockey Helpers month. Through October, the company and its dealers coast-to-coast raised more than $420,000 to help under-resourced kids play organized hockey through grants for equipment and league fees. Hyundai Hockey Helpers is run in partnership with the not-for-profit organization KidSport Canada and demonstrates the company's commitment to giving back to Canadians.

The company's Certified Pre-Owned vehicle program sold 891 units for the month to bring the year-to-date total to 10,843, representing increases of 11% and 302%, respectively.
