Thousands of churches and Christians prepare for Nov. 7-9 televised Billy Graham messages
CALGARY, Oct. 28, 2013 /CNW/ - More than 4,500 specially trained Canadians are preparing to open their homes to friends, family members, neighbors and co-workers to watch special TV presentations on Nov. 7, 8 and 9 marking the 95th birthday of Billy Graham in what may be the widely respected evangelist's final national telecasts.
The programs, also available on the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association of Canada (BGEAC) website, are the culmination of My Hope Canada with Billy Graham, a year-long initiative that is the largest evangelistic outreach ever undertaken by BGEAC.
The 30-minute programs feature newly recorded messages by Graham and compelling stories of ordinary people coming to faith in Jesus Christ. They will be televised several times nightly Nov. 7-9 on Vision TV, CTS, Hope TV, Joy TV, Miracle Channel, and Fox, Once each program airs, Canadians hosting viewing events will invite their guests to place their faith in Christ.
There is a broadcast schedule for each province at MyHopeWithBillyGraham.ca/broadcast-information.
More than 2,280 churches in every Canadian province have partnered with BGEAC to train congregation members to reach out to non-Christians around them. The process has involved more than 250 training events during the past few months.
"This has been an exciting journey and we are thankful for all the church leaders and believers across the country who have caught the vision of this ministry," says Dave Ingram, BGEAC's Director of Ministry. "We are trusting God to do great things in November."
My Hope, which includes a French-language version in Quebec distributed in DVD format, has been very successful around the world. Since its launch in 2002, more than 10 million people in 57 countries have made faith commitments to Christ through the ministry.
"My Hope takes place in people's homes," says Mike Smart, leader pastor of Trailview Alliance Church in Swift Current, Saskatchewan, "We're excited because a lot of people are good at relationships, but not good at evangelism. My Hope does a good job at bringing them together."
