SAINT JOHN, NB, Nov. 28, 2013 /CNW/ - Clayton Christensen, the world's top management thinker, will headline the expanded Big Data Congress II, which takes place over two days - February 24th to 25th, 2014 - in Saint John, N.B.
A world renowned innovation strategy and growth expert, Professor Clay Christensen was recently named 2013's most influential living management thinker in the world by Thinkers50 for the second time running, an achievement matched only by management legends Peter Drucker and CK Prahalad.
Professor Christensen is a New York Times best-selling author whose books have been translated into 18 languages, sold in more than 25 countries, and has deeply influenced some of the greatest business leaders of our time - among them, Apple's Steve Jobs, business magnate Michael Bloomberg and former Intel CEO Andy Grove.
Christensen brings his message of disruptive innovation to the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre February 25, 2014 as part of an expanded Big Data Congress II, which brings together leading thinkers with local innovators to talk about big data and its growing impact on our lives.
"Creative thinkers and entrepreneurs are an essential part of our government's plan to support enterprises that drive job creation, attract new investment and help forge a new, sustainable economy in our province," said New Brunswick Premier David Alward. "The Big Data Congress II is an opportunity to explore options for growth."
The Congress will take place over two days. Monday February 24, 2014 features technical workshops and opportunities for sponsors and participants to interact; Tuesday February 25, 2014 will play host to our keynote speakers and panel discussions. It will be followed on February 26, 2014 by a special technology-themed event for New Brunswick high school students, to be held at the Saint John Trade and Convention Centre.
"Data science offers an incredible opportunity to those bold enough to seize it," says T4G president Geoff Flood. "The Big Data Congress II is bringing everyone together in one place to figure out how to build upon our existing strengths and develop specific business opportunities to spur growth in Atlantic Canada."
Roman Coba, Global Chief Information Officer of McCain Foods and chairman of the New Brunswick ICT Council led the culture shift at McCain Foods to data-driven decision-making and believes the line-up of Big Data Congress II speakers offers the right mix of big ideas with practical advice.
"It's why we're back, partnering with T4G to present the Big Data Congress II. It's information that leads to action - and that has great value for management teams from all sizes of businesses," he said. "Data analytics is essential for businesses that want to increase productivity, sales and the bottom line."
"T4G is excited to host this premier business and technology conference, which will enable participants to connect with successful entrepreneurs, discover exciting ICT investment and career opportunities and learn about what's new in the development of a Centre of Excellence in Data Science," said T4G Vice-president of Marketing Cathy Simpson.
