BILD Member of the Year and Chair's Award of Merit recipient honoured
TORONTO, Feb. 7, 2013 /CNW/ - Two outstanding members of the Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) have been recognized for their tremendous contribution to the industry and the Association in 2012.
With 400 guests in attendance at the annual Chair's Dinner, held on February 6, 2013, outgoing BILD Chair Paul Golini presented the prestigious BILD Member of the Year award and the Chair's Award of Merit.
For her volunteerism, participation and commitment, Cindy Lloyd, Advertising Sales Manager at the Toronto Star and BILD Board member was named BILD Member of the Year.
"Cindy has gone above and beyond expectations as a member of the BILD Board of Directors, showing that she can accomplish anything she puts her mind to and it's always in the best interest of the Association and the industry," said Golini.
The Star is one of the Association's marketing partners and Cindy has helped to cement that great working relationship. She is also behind numerous Association successes, such as the award-winning fundraiser, Race for Humanity, and Shift Happens, the eight-part civic awareness series that ran in the newspaper in late 2012.
The second award, the Chair's Award of Merit, is bestowed upon a member whose contribution has made a significant difference to the Association and the industry. This year, the award was presented to Gary Gregoris, Senior Vice President of Land at Mattamy Homes.
"Gary is a long-standing BILD Board member and he has dedicated years of volunteer service on the advocacy side of the Association," said Golini.
In 2011, Gary became Chair of the Growth Plan Advisory Committee, bringing key members to the table to produce a list of recommendations for the implementation of the Growth Plan. A subsequent presentation has been used as an educational tool informing politicians, partners in government, regional planners and more of the industry position.
"Gary is helping this Association make a difference in the policies and plans that will shape the GTA," Golini added.
BILD would like to congratulate both of the award recipients and thank everyone for attending the Chair's Dinner, which also featured the inaugural address by incoming BILD Chair Steve Upton.
