Bill Skolnik appointed as Chief Executive Officer of DGC Ontario
TORONTO, Feb. 27, 2012 /CNW/ - The DGC Ontario Executive Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Bill Skolnik will assume the post of CEO of DGC Ontario effective March 22, 2012.
"I am delighted Bill is joining the Guild," stated Alan Goluboff, Chair, DGC Ontario Board of Directors. "His understanding of our creative community, his lengthy history within the world of collective bargaining, and his exceptional managerial skill set will add great depth to the Guild."
Mr. Skolnik has extensive experience in industrial relations and intellectual property rights and has held executive positions throughout his career, most recently as Vice President from Canada of the American Federation of Musicians and previously at the Toronto Musicians Association as Executive Director. Mr. Skolnik is also an accomplished musician, lyricist and composer, with several television credits to his name, including Sesame Street.

The Directors Guild of Canada Ontario (DGC Ontario) is a provincial labour organization representing more than 1,300 key creative and logistical personnel working in the screen-based industries in the areas of direction, design, production, locations, accounting and editing. The DGC Ontario secures work opportunities for its Members, represents their interests through the negotiation and administration of collective agreements and engages in extensive industry advocacy and lobbying activities at the provincial and municipal levels.
