TORONTO, Sept. 15 /CNW/ - Bird Construction Income Fund (the "Fund") announced today that an operating subsidiary of the Fund has executed a design and construction contract with the Shield Infrastructure Partnership to design and build 18 Ontario Provincial Police facilities located throughout Ontario. On July 27, 2010, the Fund announced Bird's participation as a member of the Shield Infrastructure Partnership consortium that was selected as the preferred proponent responsible for the design, build, finance and maintenance of the 18 facilities. Since that time, the consortium has reached financial close.

Bird's role relates to the design and construction of the facilities. Construction is expected to commence shortly with a completion date scheduled for the fall of 2012.
