Bird Construction Income Fund announces Its Selection as the Preferred
proponent for Alberta New Schools Project

TORONTO, March 16 /CNW/ - Bird Construction Income Fund announced today that an operating subsidiary of the Fund is a member of a consortium named as the preferred proponent in the pursuit of a project to design, build, finance and maintain 10 new schools in Alberta.

Bird's role relates to the design and construction of the schools in joint venture with Graham Construction. The consortium is finalizing its preparations for entering into a project agreement (the terms of which it agreed to be bound by when submitting its bid) later in the spring of 2010. There can be no assurances that Bird will receive a contract award from the consortium related to this project.
