Throwaway Thursday: Gift cards to the first 200 shoppers who donate to Clothesline
To mark the occasion of Black Friday shopping gaining popularity across Canada, Ivanhoé Cambridge is collaborating with Clothesline and the Canadian Diabetes Association to encourage consumers to shop responsibly. On Throwaway Thursday, November 28, the public is encouraged to make room for Black Friday purchases in order to make a donation: the first 200 shoppers on November 29 who bring a donation of gently used clothing and footwear to Clothesline will receive a $10 gift card.
Shopping centres will continue to encourage customers to donate their gently used clothing during Black Friday and through December 5.
About the Clothesline program
100 percent of net proceeds raised by Clothesline directly support the Canadian Diabetes Association and world-leading diabetes research, education, advocacy and important programs like D-Camps.
"We're excited to increase our Black Friday activities this year by promoting the event through a responsible approach," said Joanne Ross, Director, Regional Marketing, Central, Ivanhoé Cambridge. "In the true Canadian way, we're encouraging shoppers to give back to the community and contribute to fight a growing public health issue."
