- Schick Quattro for Women's Bodies of Art gallery showcases the best in style, uncovered -
TORONTO, Aug. 21, 2012 /CNW/ - Bodies of Art challenged emerging artists to demonstrate that style begins before you get dressed. This art competition, created by Schick® Quattro for Women® brand, showcases the beauty of the female form through mixed media. Today, the winning designs were revealed through an online gallery of photography and video on www.BodiesOfArt.ca. The gallery features images of the chosen designs and the creative process of the eight post-secondary art students who competed to have their design selected for the Bodies of Art gallery.
"Bodies of Art was born from our belief that style begins before you get dressed - and what better way to showcase this than by working with talented art and design students to create something that's truly unique," says Greg Crisp, Brand Manager, Schick Canada. "We were amazed by the artists' talent, the creativity of all the submissions and the amazing designs brought to life by the winning students."
The Bodies of Art Competition encouraged post-secondary art and design students in the Greater Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal Areas to submit their creative concepts for using mixed media, such as paint or fabric, to showcase the beauty of the female form. Submissions were accepted between March 26 and April 24, 2012. A panel of judges, including award-winning painter David Brown, selected the eight students based on the creativity, originality and quality of their designs, as well as their portfolio.
Each of the students chosen for Bodies of Art received studio time with a professional model and funding to create their design, and had their final art captured by award-winning photographer Kint Quon and a videographer. In addition, each student received an HTC Flyer™ with HTC Scribe™ digital pen.
