Two partners at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP join community of Canada's most iconic women leaders
TORONTO, Nov. 25, 2015 /CNW/ - Borden Ladner Gervais LLP (BLG) is pleased to announce Cindy Clarke and Victoria Prince have been named winners of the Women's Executive Network (WXN) 2015 Canada's Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award.
"Cindy and Victoria are not only top legal professionals in their fields, they are two of BLG's most well-respected senior leaders," said Sean Weir, national managing partner and CEO at BLG. "Cindy and Victoria are valued by their clients, respected by their peers and generous to their communities, and on behalf of the firm I congratulate them on joining this prestigious group of most powerful women in Canada."
Ms. Clarke is the national group head of BLG's Specialized Litigation Group, where she oversees five national litigation groups and sits on the firm's National Management Committee. Her business law practice spans corporate governance to restructuring and negotiations, for clients ranging from not-for-profits and charities to financial and tech. Ms. Prince is deeply committed to the community, focusing on children's issues and mentoring younger women. She currently serves as the director and secretary of Kids Up Front (Toronto) and The Hammer Band: From Violence to Violins, and has served as co-chair of the Toronto legal community's Give A Day campaign for several years.
The Top 100 Awards serve to recognize talented leaders in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors and to inspire the current and next generation to push the boundaries of what's possible.
"For these highly accomplished women, receiving a Top 100 Award means much more than recognition or a chance to share the spotlight with other remarkable Winners, it's an opportunity to pay it forward," says WXN founder, Pamela Jeffery. "WXN Top 100 Award Winners are powerful women both in their careers and their potential to transcend boundaries to have a greater impact on the communities around them."
Launched in 2003, the Top 100 Awards celebrate the incredible accomplishments of Canada's top female executive talent as well as their organizations and networks. Cindy and Victoria, who will both receive the KPMG Professionals Award for women professionals who play a leadership role within their organizations, will be honoured during a gala celebration at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on November 26.
