Blind River teacher elected to key position

OTTAWA, March 19 /CNW Telbec/ - Francine LeBlanc-Lebel, a teacher at École St-Joseph in Blind River, has been elected to represent the Association des enseignantes et des enseignants franco-ontariens (AEFO) on the Executive Committee of the Ontario Teachers' Federation by delegates attending AEFO's 2010 Policy Convention in Ottawa, this week.
A teacher for 30 years, Ms. LeBlanc-Lebel has been actively involved in AEFO for twenty years. She currently sits on the executive committee of AEFO's Catholic Mid-North Unit, on AEFO's Provincial Executive Committee and on the Board of Governors of the Ontario Teachers' Federation (OTF).
Ms. LeBlanc-Lebel is also involved in local community groups, namely the Blind River Tennis Club and the Golden Wings Air Cadets.
AEFO represents 9,500 teachers and education workers in Ontario's French-language elementary and secondary schools, both Catholic and public, and workers in other French-language establishments.
