BMW Canada named official green transportation partner for 2009 Allstream

During this year's Allstream Global Forum, a draw will be held for a chance to win a two year lease on a new BMW 335d Advanced Diesel vehicle. A BMW Advanced Diesel will be awarded to the lucky Allstream Global Forum guest who visits every booth at the event's "Green Gallery of Innovation". Guests will automatically be entered by wearing their radio-frequency identification name badge and simply walking through the Gallery and visiting each booth. The BMW 335d is powered by BMW's two-time International Engine of the Year Award winning 3.0 litre Twin Turbo in-line six-cylinder Advanced Diesel engine, the cleanest diesel engine BMW has ever produced. BMW's Advanced Diesels are 25% more fuel efficient and produce significantly less CO(2) emissions than a comparable gasoline engine.

BMW Canada will also provide Al Gore with a courtesy BMW ActiveHybrid X6 vehicle during his stay in Toronto . The BMW ActiveHybrid X6 provided to Al Gore is the world's first Sports Activity Coupé with full hybrid drive. It capitalizes on the benefits offered by combining the combustion engine with electric motors, offering a significant increase in driving dynamics while reducing fuel consumption by approximately 20% compared to a combustion engine only vehicle.
