LONGUEUIL, QC, Sept. 6, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Ville de Longueuil has issued a boil water advisory for the Saint-Hubert borough, parts of Vieux-Longueuil borough supplied by Usine régionale and the municipalities of Boucherville and Saint‑Bruno-de-Montarville. This measure is necessary as a result of laboratory findings that indicate the presence of the E. coli bacteria in two samples taken from the water system. This advisory will remain in effect until Ville de Longueuil issues a press release stating that the situation has returned to normal.

Residents in all affected sectors are recommended they boil their water for at least one minute before drinking it. Hot water can be used straight from the tap for washing dishes (dry thoroughly), doing laundry, showering and bathing.
As for young children and infants, it is best to wash them with a facecloth to prevent them from swallowing the water and to make sure they do not bring wet objects to their mouths.
