Bonaventure Expressway: Closure of two lanes out of three towards downtown Montreal this weekend (August 4 and 5) Français
LONGUEUIL, QC, Aug. 2, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) would like to inform road users that two lanes out of three will be closed towards downtown Montreal on the Bonaventure Expressway during the coming weekend, from Friday, August 3, at midnight, to Monday, August 6, at 5 a.m.
Traffic on the Bonaventure Expressway will therefore be reduced to a single lane for access to downtown when coming from the Champlain Bridge. Two lanes out of three will remain open in the opposite direction, towards the Champlain Bridge.
Please note there is no major work planned for the Champlain Bridge this weekend, and that all lanes will be open in the daytime on Saturday and Sunday.
This closure is necessary to carry out concrete work as part of the box girder repair project currently taking place on the federal section of the Bonaventure Expressway at the Lachine Canal.
Also note that over the next week, this major project's first phase change will take place, though it should not result in significant traffic hindrances.
As was the case during the first phase of this work, two lanes will be kept open per direction.
This major construction project will be carried out in four phases and will be completed in late November. Press releases will be sent to inform the population of the various changes in lane configuration.
Note that this work may be postponed depending on weather conditions.
To follow the work that we are doing, road users are encouraged to visit www.champlainbridge.ca.
