Bonaventure Expressway: Partial closure of downtown Montreal-bound lanes this weekend (October 12 to 15) Français
LONGUEUIL, QC, Oct. 11, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - The Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated (JCCBI) is advising road users that the downtown Montreal-bound lanes of the Bonaventure Expressway will be partially closed between Pierre-Dupuy Avenue and the Lachine Canal over the weekend, from Friday, October 12, at 12 PM, to Monday, October 15, at 5 AM.
During this period, a single downtown Montreal-bound lane will be open and two Champlain Bridge-bound lanes will be open.
As well, the access ramps to the downtown Montreal-bound lanes of the Bonaventure Expressway from Pierre-Dupuy Avenue and Chemin des Moulins will be completely closed during this period. The exit for Wellington and Notre-Dame Streets (Exit 1) from the downtown Montreal-bound lanes of the Bonaventure Expressway will also be closed during this period. Road users will have the option of taking a detour via the Pierre-Dupuy exit (Exit 2).
This closure is necessary to continue carrying out concrete work as part of the box girder repair project taking place on the federal section of the Bonaventure Expressway at the Lachine Canal.
Also note that the right lane towards Montreal on the Champlain Bridge will be closed from 6 AM to 3 PM on Saturday, October 13.
The transition to the project's fourth phase will then take place during the week of October 15 and will require important closures, outside rush hour. These closures will be confirmed shortly.
Note that this work may be postponed depending on weather conditions. To follow the work in progress, road users are encouraged to visit www.champlainbridge.ca.
