TORONTO, Sept. 18, 2012 /CNW/ - On a night when the competition was fierce, nothing could match the clout and appeal of the premiere of Bones on Global. This perennial fan favourite attracted 2.3 million viewers (2+ Nat) Monday night as Dr. Brennan came back from being on the run to clear her name. The story is equally impressive in the key demographic of Adults 18-49 Nat, which Bones easily won with 965,000 viewers.
Global added a little "salt" in the competition's Monday night wounds with a strong performance by the feature film, Salt. The action thriller also outperformed Citytv's Revolution and the CMAs on CTV (2+ Nat).
The spectacular performances by Bones and Salt meant that Global was the most watched network last night during primetime, beating CTV by 102% and CTV2 and Citytv, each by 45% (A18-49 Nat).
BONES SEPTEMBER 17TH DATA HIGHLIGHTS (All data Adults 18-49 Nat Unless Stated Otherwise):
- Won the night in all four key major markets
- Bones surpassed the series premiere of Revolution (Citytv) by 73%
- Bones outperformed The Voice (CTV2) by 67%
- Bones beat the CMAs (CTV) by 244%
- Up over last season's finale nationally by 27%
Next Monday on Bones, the team investigates the murder of a high-powered divorce lawyer with a lot of enemies and Brennan tries to adjust to life after being on the run. Tensions start to rise between her and Booth as the impact of their three-month separation begins to take its toll.
Viewers who missed last night's premiere of Bones can catch up on GlobalTV.com or on their Global Video App, available from the App Store on iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, or on demand through cable and satellite providers across the country.
