Nine Lucky Kids from across Canada participated in Jr. Jays activities at Rogers Centre™
TORONTO, Sept. 10, 2017 /CNW/ - On Saturday September 9th, 9 lucky kids from across the country got "called up" to each become a Jr. Jay for a Day with the Toronto Blue Jays. As part of the inaugural Jr. Jay for a Day "signing", the youngsters inked their deal with former Blue Jay and current Buffalo Bisons hitting coach, Devon White. They also received a team jersey and had their picture taken with Blue Jays mascot Ace™ and Boston Pizza's Lionel.
"We were very excited to be work with the Toronto Blue Jays to give these nine future all-stars from across Canada the chance to participate in a very unique and memorable experience with the Blue Jays organization," says James Kawalecki, Director of Marketing, Boston Pizza. A sentiment echoed by the Blue Jays themselves: "We enjoyed hosting all of these great Jr. Jays," says Mark Ditmars, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships, Toronto Blue Jays. "We all grew up with dreams of playing professional baseball, so it was great to be able to work with Boston Pizza to give these kids a taste of what it's like to be a Jr. Jay."
The nine lucky kids won the chance to be a "Jr. Jay for a Day" by entering a national colouring contest within the Boston Pizza Kids Pack.
