BLAINVILLE, QC, July 22, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The 100% Québec microbrewery Les Brasseurs du Nord is proud to announce that the new Boréale 25 and the Boréale Blanche were both awarded a Gold medal in the Wheat Ale Style category at the 2013 World Beer Championships.
The World Beer Championships, founded in 1994, is America's oldest international competition and is open to all commercially produced beers from around the world. It is a medal-based competition that awards it prizes based on a proprietary blind tasting methodology developed by the Beverage Testing Institute (BTI).
The judges described the new Boréale 25, especially launched last May as part of the microbrewery's 25th anniversary celebrations, as follows: "Clear golden amber color. Aromas of peach custard pastry and spicy buttercream on orange cake with a chewy fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body and a tangy banana, pepper, and spicy carrot cake accented finish. Rich and tasty."
As for the Boréale Blanche, it was assessed as follows: "Hazy old gold color. Bold aromas of lemongrass buttercream, coriander, and exotic spices with zesty, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a creamy citrus custard, radish and pepper bread finish. A powerful and flavorful wit. Pair with mussels or Indian food."
These Gold Medals once again clearly show the commitment of the Boréale team towards superior quality and customer satisfaction.
