Bramalea City Centre Joins Forces with Charity to Collect Food for Local Families
Bramalea City Centre and Knights Table host Cereal Food Drive from October 4 to October 11 in Support of Local Children's Breakfast Programs
BRAMPTON, ON, Sept. 30, 2013 /CNW/ - In the spirit of Thanksgiving, Bramalea City Centre (BCC) has teamed up with local charity Knights Table to host a food drive from October 4 to 11 to collect boxes of cereal. As the most important meal of the day, breakfast food items are amongst the most sought-after products by food banks. As a result, BCC's cereal food drive will focus on supporting local breakfast programs for kids. Donations of cereal will be accepted at the Guest Services Desk on the lower level in BCC (located at 25 Peel Centre Drive) during regular shopping hours.
"We are proud to be involved with such a worthwhile cause," says Alan J. Gomez, Marketing Director, Bramalea City Centre. "With this cereal food drive, we hope to inspire our valued shoppers, retailers and partners to support local families, and we are excited to see what our community brings to the table for Knights Table."
On Friday, October 4, BCC and Knights Table will demonstrate the importance of starting the day off with a healthy meal by serving breakfast to local school children. "As the most important meal of the day, breakfast food items are in high demand," says Annie Bynoe, Executive Director, Knights Table. "We are thrilled to partner with Bramalea City Centre and with their support we hope to provide breakfast to over 1,100 local families."
To further show their commitment to this campaign, BCC will match the amount of product donated at the end of the drive to ensure the need for breakfast items are met this Thanksgiving season.
