BRAMPTON, ON, Oct. 15, 2014 /CNW/ - Bramalea City Centre (BCC) invites everyone to come and celebrate the festival of lights at DiwaliFest 2014. From October 24 – 26, BCC will host a variety of exciting, family-friendly activities in support of Diwali, the most celebrated South Asian cultural festival in the world. Admission is free.
BCC's Pandora Court will feature the Festival's main stage where guests can see cultural performances, cooking demonstrations, fashion shows and a highly-anticipated dance competition. Visitors to BCC will also enjoy a variety of other fun activities throughout the mall, including: henna tattoo stations, a photo booth, free samples, traditional Rangel displays (colourful floral patterns), a Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games booth and much more.
In keeping with Diwali tradition, BCC will also be collecting non-perishable food items to help build an Annakoot (a "food mountain"). All donations collected will be given to local charity, The Knight's Table.
"We are honoured to host the largest Diwali festival in the city," said Alan J. Gomez, Director of Marketing at BCC. "Bramalea City Centre resides in one of the country's most diverse communities and we are excited to bring these Diwali celebrations to our loyal shoppers and the residents of Brampton."
