Montreal microbrewer will boost its growth by taking advantage of Molson Coors Canada's distribution network
MONTREAL, May 17, 2016 /CNW Telbec/ - Microbrewer Brasseur de Montréal and Six Pints Specialty Beer Company are joining forces to develop the Montreal company and offer consumers in Quebec and across Canada a wider selection of craft and specialty beers. The agreement signed today will give Brasseur de Montréal greater access to the Canadian market, while maintaining its independent brewing operations in Montreal's Griffintown neighbourhood.
While benefitting from its new partner's extensive distribution network, the Montreal-based family-owned company combines the expertise of its brewmasters with the unique know-how of Six Pints, which is already behind the success of two well-known microbreweries in Ontario and BC, Creemore Springs Brewery Limited and Granville Island Brewing. "From our very first contact with the Six Pints management, we felt they shared our passion for beer," said Marc-André Gauvreau, co-founder of Brasseur de Montréal. "This partnership is not only an opportunity to pool our strengths but also to give a greater number of beer lovers the opportunity to enjoy the products created by our brewmasters," added Denise Mérineau, the company's other co-founder. The two will continue to control the company and manage Brasseur de Montréal's brewing operations.
For Six Pints, this partnership will make it possible to satisfy beer drinkers who are increasingly looking for microbrewery products. "Our mission is delight our drinkers and to introduce unique specialty products to as many beer lovers as possible. Brasseur de Montréal brews products that meet our criteria. They are distinct in their freshness and have the taste characteristics sought by beer drinkers," added Sandra Gagnon, Commercial manager, at Six Pints.
