Bridgehouse Asset Managers Named to Best Workplaces in Canada® List: First-time Recognition in Prestigious Competition Results From Strategic Focus
TORONTO, April 10, 2015 /CNW/ - A strategic effort to improve its workplace culture has brought Bridgehouse Asset Managers recognition as one of this year's Best Workplaces in Canada® from Great Place to Work® Institute for the first time.
The respected human resources (HR) award, announced today, acknowledges Bridgehouse as one of Canada's top 50 companies in the Medium category, (i.e., organizations with 50 to 999 employees). A complete list of winners appears today in a special national report in the Globe and Mail and on Globeandmail.com.
"A healthy, positive workplace is essential in the investment business. When you're investing peoples' money, your employees must truly care about their jobs and be willing to go above and beyond," says Bridgehouse President and COO Carol Lynde. "Originating with our founder, Charles Brandes, Bridgehouse has a 100-year vision to motivate staff and to support the financial advisors we work with and the clients they serve. This long-term view creates purpose and meaning and helps our employees grasp the responsibility we have for our investors."
More than 300 nominations were received and more than 60,000 employees participated in the annual workplace survey, which operates in more than 50 countries worldwide.
The Best Workplaces in Canada award is presented on the basis of an in-depth assessment of nominated organizations. Two-thirds of the total score is earned through a 58-statement survey completed by a random selection of employees, including open-ended comments about their organizations. One-third is derived from an intensive review of an organization's culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. Together, they provide a robust representation of each organization as a place to work and the foundation for assessing it on five critical trust-building dimensions: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.
Concludes Lynde: "We operate over the long-term and with a stewardship mindset—it's a must when you manage investments that make retirement and other life goals possible."
