LONGUEUIL, QC, July 12, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - The Regroupement des cabinets de courtage d'assurance du Québec (RCCAQ) has been shaken by the tragedy that recently struck the municipality of Lac Mégantic. Brokers in the area are striving to come to the aid of the victims.
In particular, the RCCAQ would like to acknowledge the efforts of everyone at FGL Assurances. The firm has taken various special measures, including extending its business hours and taking on additional staff to assist clients affected by the incident.
"It's in situations like this that brokers have a chance to demonstrate their true value. Thanks to their understanding and professionalism, they are in a position to provide moral support to clients who might otherwise feel unequipped to deal with the complexities of the insurance industry," said RCCAQ chair Michel Duciaume. "Maintaining a local presence in all regions of Quebec enables brokerage firms to offer personalized service at all times following all types of incidents," he added.
The RCCAQ will continue to gather information on the incident as new developments arise. We would also like to extend our condolences to the all those directly affected by this tragedy.
The RCCAQ is a professional association that seeks to promote and defend the socio-economic interests of its member brokerages. It represents 4,500 insurance brokers based in 615 brokerages and branch offices across the province.
