Government of Canada awards nearly $86,000 in financial assistance to Eastern Townships business
SAINT-ALPHONSE-DE-GRANBY, QC, June 8, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions (CED)
Businesses need to be able to rely on adequate resources to create and commercialize innovative products. The Government of Canada is therefore determined to support innovative Canadian businesses. As a true economic driver, innovation is the key to success in that it generates growth that benefits businesses and communities.
Pierre Breton, Member of Parliament for Shefford, acting on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for CED, announced that Brosses Lacasse has been granted $85,800 in financial assistance, in the form of a repayable contribution. The enterprise can now improve its performance by increasing its productivity and production capacity thanks to the acquisition of new production equipment.
From its beginnings in 1959, Brosses Lacasse has been providing all types of brushes for clients in the agri-food, maple syrup, rail, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. The company is a pioneer in the manufacture of industrial brushes in Quebec and is still the only Quebec enterprise that designs, manufactures and refurbishes industrial brushes.
The funding awarded through CED's Quebec Economic Development Program has helped Brosses Lacasse acquire a new numerical control (CNC) machine tool for the manufacture of cylinder and strip brushes, and to travel to Europe to train staff.
