The Budweiser Red Zeppelin embarks on a nationwide tour in celebration of hockey - Let the Goals Begin!!!
TORONTO, Feb. 3, 2014 /CNW/ - In 2013, Budweiser Canada introduced the first game-synched Budweiser "Red Light," which was designed to let Canadian hockey fans experience the excitement of goals like never before. This year, they are taking goal celebrations to unprecedented heights with the unveiling of the Budweiser Red Zeppelin - The World's Largest Goal Light - with a 60-second television spot during Super Bowl XLVIII. The experience was amplified for all Red Light owners as their lights simultaneously went off in homes and bars across the country during the debut of the Budweiser Red Zeppelin 'Blackout" ad during the two-minute warning of the first half.
"What better place to launch the Budweiser Red Zeppelin campaign than during the Super Bowl when millions of die-hard sports fans are tuned in from coast-to-coast?" said Michaela Charette, Brand Director, Budweiser. "The Zeppelin embodies the passion all Canadian hockey fans feel when their team scores, and we couldn't be happier to have created an icon that heightens the celebration of games and goals at every level."
The Budweiser Red Zeppelin is 22 feet high, 70 feet long with LED lighting and a specially engineered sound system. With the ability to fly as high as 400 feet it's most definitely the World's Largest Goal Light.
Effective immediately, the Budweiser Red Zeppelin and Red Lights will have the ability to sync to the men's and women's Canadian hockey games. Fans simply need to update their existing Budweiser Red Lights App for iPhone and iPad through the App Store or through the Google Play Store for all other smart devices. Once the most recent App is downloaded, simply follow the steps to select a team. For more information and to purchase a Budweiser Red Light fans can visit www.budweiser.ca.
The Budweiser Red Zeppelin will appear in select Canadian cities beginning in Ottawa on Feb. 7 with flights along the Ottawa River and over the ByWard Market. To find out when the Red Zeppelin will be in your neighbourhood, a full flight path will be posted on the Budweiser Canada website and Facebook Page and at www.facebook.com/budweisercanada
The Budweiser Red Zeppelin tour will be supported with a robust digital campaign with Facebook fans and Budweiser King Club members receiving access to a series of localized Facebook cover images that feature the Zeppelin in flight over Canadian cities. Fans can use these images to show their support for their team in addition to receiving additional content every time Canada scores.
Budweiser Canada will also be putting a new shipment of the Red Lights into circulation during the month of February and creating hockey viewing destinations in the heart of major Canadian cities to ensure that fans experience the game in a way that makes them feel like they are in the rink cheering on their team.
It's time to celebrate Canada. Let the Goals Begin!
