- Customers' orders are loaded directly into their vehicles at the store
- Free service helps customers save time while enjoying Walmart's low prices
- Orders can be placed and picked up on the same day
- NEW mobile check-in option available in select markets, including Windsor
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Nov. 13, 2018 /CNW/ - Here, ahead of the holidays, Walmart Canada announced today the launch of Walmart Grocery Pickup in Windsor. Grocery shopping has never been easier – or faster! Starting November 15, this free service is now available to Windsor-area residents, allowing customers to shop for their groceries online on Walmart.ca/Grocery, or through the Walmart app, and pick up at store. Walmart's Grocery Pickup is currently available at select locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
With this new service, customers can place a grocery order for pick up from a location that is convenient for them, from the comfort of home, at work, or on-the-go. Walmart's pickup service can help Canadians save time and money.
Highly-trained grocery associates prepare the order, carefully selecting each product. Shoppers simply pull into a designated pickup parking spot, alerting an associate of their arrival. Their order is brought out and loaded directly into their vehicle. The minimum online grocery order is $50 before taxes.
"The Walmart Grocery Pickup service is very popular in Ontario and we are so excited to bring this free service to customers in Windsor to save them valuable time – and money," said Daryl Porter, vice president of omni-channel operations and online grocery, Walmart Canada. "We continue to improve, expand and grow our services for our customers from coast-to-coast."
Mobile check-in gives consumers even more choice
Rolling out in select markets across the country, mobile check-in is a new feature of the Walmart app allowing customers to advise the store that they are on their way to pick up their order. Thirty minutes prior to their scheduled pick up time, customers will receive a push notification prompting them to check-in with a single tap. Store associates then receive a notification when the customer is 10 minutes out. As a result, the customer's order is ready upon their arrival in the designated Grocery Pickup parking area.
Customers can shop for fresh groceries, including Canada No. 1 grade fruits and vegetables and organic produce, Canadian AAA Angus beef, pork, chicken and seafood. All fresh groceries come with a 100% satisfaction money-back guarantee. They can also shop for dairy, baked goods, deli and frozen foods, as well as health and beauty products, household supplies, pet food, baby food, diapers, and more through Walmart Grocery Pickup.
Walmart Grocery Pickup will be available in Windsor at the following location as of November 15:
- Windsor East Walmart Supercentre
7100 Tecumseh Road East, Windsor
