Ontario Solar Market matures as industry focuses on long-term management
MISSISSAUGA, ON, Nov. 26, 2013 /CNW/ - Ontario is now home to just under 1000 MW of solar projects, the largest cluster of solar in Canada and fourth largest in North America. As the market continues to grow and mature, the focus is shifting from constructing these assets to managing their performance over the course of their life span.
"Building these projects is only the first-year challenge," notes Fidel Reijerse, President of RESCo Energy, which has built some of Canada's largest and most innovative rooftop solar projects. "Managing these assets for optimal performance, safety and return is a twenty-year challenge. This has always been the mindset of RESCo; design and build the solar asset while recognizing that our crews are responsible for the long-term production of the site."
As part of its leadership role in the industry, RESCo Energy will be sponsoring a full stream on operations and maintenance of solar buildings and rooftops at the upcoming Solar Conference 2013. Speakers will include international and domestic business leaders that manage assets around the globe ready to share their valuable knowledge and experiences in the industry.
The Solar Canada Conference 2013 is the largest solar show in Canada. It is being delivered by the Canadian Solar Industry Association (CanSIA) and will take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on December 9th & 10th.
