Media Advisory - ONA Nursing Home RNs, ONA Leaders Rally in Support of Striking CCAC Health Professionals
SCARBOROUGH and NORTH YORK, ON, Feb. 6, 2015 /CNW/ - Hundreds of registered nurses from across Ontario who work in nursing homes, nursing leaders from the Ontario Nurses' Association (ONA) will join President Linda Haslam-Stroud, RN, CFNU President Linda Silas, RN and striking Central CCAC workers on the picket lines today at rallies at two sites to show their support.
The nursing home RNs will be in Toronto to hear details of their new contract, which includes wage increases.
Spokespeople are available at both sites to speak to the media. Details of where the leaders will be are listed below.
ONA is the union representing 60,000 nurse practitioners, registered nurses and allied health professionals, as well as more than 14,000 nursing student affiliates providing care in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, the community, clinics and industry.
