This concept lets Internet users visit several rooms in the house, gathering useful tips and sound advice and even viewing informative video vignettes. The Ready Set Reno House will be open to the public for the next six weeks. "After that, only CAA-Quebec members will be able to browse freely throughout the house," notes
The art of renovating
The idea of devising a virtual tool arose with the aim of promoting sound practices and helping members make wise choices. The functions in the Ready Set Reno House are both fun and educational, providing visitors with a valuable overall view of the work to plan for in renovating parts of their house. "Renovation entails major expenses, and aware consumers will enjoy having access to an array of practical tips,"
A house that will evolve
Like many residential projects, CAA-Quebec's Ready Set Reno House will evolve, with a number of renovation projects being added over the coming months and years. The Ready Set Reno contest, held in the spring of 2009, enabled several home renovation projects to be completed and helped create a substantial part of the content for this virtual tool. The next edition of the contest, planned for 2010, will further enhance it.
CAA-Quebec, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1904, provides its one million members with automotive, travel, financial and - for more than 10 years -, residential services and privileges.
