QUEBEC CITY, Sept.29, 2014 /CNW Telbec/ - CAA-Quebec has unveiled an improved and more comprehensive version of its popular Gasoline Watch tool. The newly minted application now lets consumers access the daily updated average price of regular gasoline in every administrative region of Quebec. It's now easier than ever for motorists to track fluctuations in gas prices and be smart about their purchases.
A true barometer of pump prices
With the fully overhauled Gasoline Watch interface, users can now compare the average pump price with the realistic price calculated each morning by CAA-Quebec. "It's now possible at a glance to gauge the prevailing situation in a given region and read our recommendation as to whether it's worth it to fill the tank completely," explains Sophie Gagnon, CAA-Quebec's Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs, adding: "Whether they're in Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, the Greater Quebec City area, Montérégie or Outaouais, all consumers can now access this new information." Hundreds of thousands of users have consulted Gasoline Watch since it was created in 2006.
Prices from coast to coast to coast
Motorists can also look up the average pump prices in all of Canada's main regions using the Canadian Automobile Association's (CAA) Gas Price Monitor at www.gasprices.caa.ca. Planning a trip to Ontario? Need to do a quick comparison with prices in the Western Provinces? It's all there in one click!
Find gas stations using the online travel planner!
By consulting CAA-Quebec's TripTik Travel Planner®, Web users can not only locate hundreds of gas stations across Quebec and find out pump prices, they can also generate personalized route maps. The tool also lists many CAA-Quebec partners, so members can get information on recommended hotels and restaurants, with ratings, as well as various exclusive offers.
Lastly, all that information is available for other Canadian provinces as well as U.S. states, so users can see gas station locations for the entire route of a trip. Now that's practical! CAA's mobile app provides easy access to the travel planner.
