CAA SCO raises $76,206 for SickKids
TORONTO, Nov. 10 /CNW/ - CAA South Central Ontario (CAA SCO) presented the Centre for Brain and Behaviour at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) with a cheque for $76,206.09 on Wednesday.
The proceeds came from the second annual CAA SCO Charity Golf Tournament and silent auction which took place in September at Angus Glen Golf Club.
A number of CAA SCO officials, including President and CEO Nick Parks, were also given a guided tour of the facilities at the Centre for Brain and Behaviour.
"The facilities were quite exceptional. Seeing them first hand helps you grasp just how much the work done there betters the lives of children," said Nick Parks, President and CEO, CAA SCO.
The Centre for Brain and Behaviour, established in 1998, has developed into one of the strongest programs in the hospital's Research Institute.
"It is always special when we have the chance to show people what really takes place here at SickKids," said JP McMillan, Director, Leadership Gifts, SickKids Foundation.
"To have the folks at CAA tour the facilities and see just what they are helping build is important to us and will hopefully help them put into perspective how much their continued support is needed and appreciated," added McMillan.
