OTTAWA, March 9, 2016 /CNW/ - Christyn Cianfarani, President of the Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI), today issued the following statement regarding the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty (UN ATT):
The Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries (CADSI)—as the national industry voice of the nearly 1,000 companies across Canada that produce world-class goods, services and technologies sought the world over—believes in a national export control regime that is rigorous, transparent, and predictable. To this end, CADSI supports Canada's accession to the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty (UN ATT). CADSI looks forward to working with the Government of Canada to accede to the treaty quickly. Raising the bar globally, as the UN ATT seeks to do, contributes positively to strengthening global security and non-proliferation.
