CAFEPRESS AND LIONSGATE PARTNER ON OFFICIAL HUNGER GAMES STORE
Merchandise Hub Will Aggregate Fan Created Merchandise, Sell Officially Licensed Designs, and Issue Free District ID Cards* To Fans
SANTA MONICA, Calif., Feb. 14, 2012 /CNW/ - CafePress, The World's Customization Engine™, together with LIONSGATE® (NYSE: LGF), a leading global entertainment company, today announced that they've partnered to create an official online store for THE HUNGER GAMES. Launching on February 21st, the CafePress store will be selling both officially licensed film merchandise and fan created designs.
The official merchandise will be a sampling of all licensed products for the film, with a concentration on apparel, accessories, and novelty items. THE HUNGER GAMES fan merchandise portal will allow fans to express their love of the story in the form of self-designed t-shirts, canvas bags, water bottles, and more than 250 other products. Aficionados can explore and design products for multiple mini-shops within the main portal that will each focus on the film's major characters and Districts.
In a special promotion beginning on February 14th and continuing throughout the lifetime of the store, fans will also have a chance to create a free District ID Card* through a new exclusive Hunger Games Facebook application that will be available within the CafePress shop. Any fan that registers for an ID card through the app can claim a physical ID card that shows among other things their district and job assignment. Existing "citizens of Panem" can also claim their free The Hunger Games ID card* through the app.
