CAJ deeply saddened by the death of Canadian journalist

OTTAWA , Dec. 31 /CNW/ - Statement by Canadian Association of Journalists President Mary Agnes Welch on the death of Calgary Herald Reporter Michelle Lang:

"On behalf of the 1,100 members of the Canadian Association of Journalists, I'd like to express my deep condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Michelle Lang , as well as to the families of the four soldiers killed Wednesday in Afghanistan . Ms. Lang risked her life, like many journalists before her, to bring a vital story home to Canadians so we can better understand our world and our role in it."
