OTTAWA, May 11, 2015 /CNW/ - The CAJ is pleased to announce Stephanie Domet will help us celebrate the recipients of the 2014 CAJ Awards.
The awards gala is the final event of #CAJ15, which runs June 5-6 at the Hotel Atlantica in Halifax. Registration is open with conference rates starting at $239 plus tax and standalone gala tickets at $60.
The recipients in 14 categories will be announced by Domet on June 6, including the recipient(s) of the Don McGillivray Award, celebrating the best investigative journalism from 2014. Finalists in these categories were announced earlier this month.
Domet is the host of CBC Radio One's Mainstreet, the drive-home show heard in Halifax and elsewhere in Nova Scotia. Aside handling that mix of current affairs, news and information, she's an accomplished author, performer and – by her own admission – a good cook. She adds CAJ MC to a long list of interesting things she's done throughout her career and an equally long list of events where she's handled a similar role.
"Stephanie will bring just the right mix of fun, local flavour and humour to the stage as we celebrate our award recipients and tie off the end of our annual conference," CAJ president Hugo Rodrigues said.
For those who cannot attend in person, a liveblog of the gala will be available on the CAJ website once the presentations begin, expected around 8 p.m. AT.
The CAJ is Canada's largest national professional organization for journalists from all media, representing over 600 members across the country. The CAJ's primary roles are to provide high-quality professional development for its members and public-interest advocacy.
