#CAJ2012 early bird registration extended!
OTTAWA, April 4, 2012 /CNW/ - The Canadian Association of Journalists has extended early-bird registration rates for the 2012 national conference taking place April 27-29 at Toronto`s Fairmont Royal York Hotel.
You can now take advantage of our discounted early registration fees until April 13. Early registration can save between $20 and $100, depending on what you're registering to attend. Register here for the CAJ conference.
"We have an absolutely first-rate program at our 2012 conference," CAJ president Hugo Rodrigues said. "By extending early bird rates, we're giving a few more weeks' access to discounted rates— by any comparable measure the $239 full-conference early bird fee for members is a fantastic deal and includes a ticket to the conference banquet and awards gala."
#CAJ2012 offers training for every journalist working in every medium. There are sessions catering to beat reporters working in sports, health and business. For those just entering the job market or who just want to chat with them, there's a networking event that allows them to have face time with managers from Canada's biggest newsrooms. A variety of speakers, panels and workshops will appeal to broadcasters, digital journalists and those working in newspapers and magazines.
The CAJ has also partnered this year with Hot Docs for a co-presentation of "Reluctant Revolutionary," British journalist Sean McAllister's new film about the Arab Spring as seen through the eyes of a Yemeni tour guide.
Kenny Yum, managing editor of Huffington Post Canada, is slated to deliver a keynote address about the online newsroom's first year in operation above the 49th parallel.
As part of the conference, the CAJ Awards will be announced April 28 at a gala and banquet hosted by Global National anchor and executive editor Dawna Friesen.

The CAJ is Canada's largest national professional organization for journalists from all media, representing almost 600 members across the country. The CAJ's primary roles are public-interest advocacy and high-quality professional development for its members.
