Caldwell Partners Appoints Managing Partner, Real Estate Practice

John Wasley brings 28 years of search and industry experience

TORONTO, April 2, 2013 /CNW/ - Retained executive search firm The Caldwell Partners International Inc. (TSX: CWL) today announced John Wasley has joined the firm as Managing Partner, Real Estate Practice.

Mr. Wasley joined Caldwell Partners from Heidrick & Struggles, where he served in a variety of management roles, including partner in charge of the Los Angeles office, managing partner of the Western United States and managing partner of the Real Estate Practice in the Americas. Previously, he was an executive director with Russell Reynolds in their Los Angeles office. He began his executive search career in 1995 at DHR International.

Prior to his recruiting career, Mr. Wasley served as senior vice president of People's Bank of California, where he was responsible for managing the construction lending, special assets, loan servicing, and corporate real estate departments. He also served as the senior vice president of PPCCP, which is a publicly traded mortgage REIT. He began his career in acquisitions with a Los Angeles-based real estate opportunity fund, ultimately becoming its chief financial officer. He subsequently ran a private real estate development firm specializing in single family and multi-family real estate.

Mr. Wasley serves on the board of the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, and is the vice chairman of the board of the Los Angeles Episcopal School. He is a past chairman of both the Los Angeles Business Council and Chrysalis, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping economically disadvantaged individuals achieve self-sufficiency through employment, along with service on other community based organizations. He is also a member of the NACD.

Mr. Wasley holds a bachelor's degree in English from the University of California, Los Angeles.
