Calgary Floods 2013 - Flood Relief for the Calgary Food Bank Store OPEN

CALGARY, July 11, 2013 /CNW/ - North Hill Centre is an Official Drop-off Point for the Calgary Food Bank.

On-going: In 2012 North Hill Centre's Fare Fight For Food Store was described as "the only store in Calgary where you cannot buy anything".  The donation drop off point raised 43,689 pounds of food and raised $51,940.54 for the Calgary Food Bank over an 8 month period ending on October 31^st, 2012.

Given the overwhelming need for non-perishable food items we have reopened our "Flood Relief for the Calgary Food Bank Store" indefinitely.

There are bins set up throughout the shopping centre and several at the front of the store.  All items will be collected to fill the shelves and then we will deliver the goods once the store is full.  Given the generosity of Calgary individuals and business the Calgary Food Bank Warehouse has been very busy and we hope we can lessen the load by providing another drop off point for Calgarians.

Our goal is to double the numbers from 2012 in 2 months versus 8 months and do all we can to assist the Calgary Food Bank in providing people affected by the floods with emergency food hampers.
