Call for Applications for the 2011-2012 Fondation Desjardins University

MONTREAL, Dec. 13 /CNW Telbec/ - Fondation Desjardins is launching a call for applications for its 2011-2012 scholarships. A total of $533,000 in the form of 202 scholarships will be awarded to students.
Scholarship candidates at the Bachelor's level ($1,250), Master's level ($7,500) and Doctorate level ($10,000) have until March 1, 2011, to send their application to Fondation Desjardins.
The Fondation will also be accepting applications from doctoral students for three research grants until April 1, 2011. A $25,000 grant and a $15,000 grant will be awarded for research related to the theme "Environment and Society". A third grant of $10,000 will be allocated for studies in the field of cooperation.
Applications will also be accepted until April 1 for the Dorimène Bursaries ($2,500) for women going back to school, as well as for the four Special bursaries in the fields of finance ($7,500), actuarial sciences ($5,000), mental health ($10,000) and gerontology ($7,500), funded by Desjardins Financial Security.
These awards are open to full-time students who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents living in Québec. The research grants, Dorimène Bursaries and Special bursaries are also open to students who are members of caisses in Ontario.
