Call for Nominations: Exceptional Candidates Sought for Provincial Access Committee
MONTREAL, May 23, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Across the province members of the English-speaking community are being invited to come forward to work for our community's interests and help solidify our future.
In what sets a remarkable precedent, the QCGN and the CHSSN have been mandated by a newly revised Quebec Government regulation to establish a joint Selection committee. This committee will call for and recommend candidates from our community for appointment, by the Minister of Health and Social Services, to the new Provincial committee on the dispensing of health and social services in the English language, better known as the Provincial Access Committee. The Provincial Access Committee's mandate is to help approve, oversee and evaluate how our health and social services are delivered in English. Note that the Access committee's mandate includes the assessment of regional access programs.
Under Bill 10's newly merged Quebec's health and social-service institutions, the Quebec government has published the process that will govern and improve access to English-language services. QCGN and CHSSN are now asking engaged community volunteers to respond to a unique opportunity to help ensure broad access to quality health and social-services care for English-speaking Quebecers - in our own language. This challenge is aimed equally at community members who are familiar with health and social-services issues and are now prepared to make an enduring and positive impact.
The QCGN and the CHSSN will recommend high-quality candidates to the Minister. There are 11 positions to be filled. The nomination deadline is June 22. More detailed information is available on the websites of the QCGN and the CHSSN.
