TORONTO, April 26, 2013 /CNW/ - Bell Media's E! announced today that it has ordered the new Canadian game show POP QUIZ from Montreal's Pixcom Production and Incendo. The 60-episode, 30-minute, pop culture-testing series is based on LE CERCLE, the successful game show seen on TVA in Quebec. Production of the rapid-fire series begins this summer in Toronto and is set to premiere on E! this fall.

Played at lightning-fast speed, POP QUIZ pits contestants against one another in rapid succession. In each episode, 10 contestants positioned in a circle begin the challenge by answering random, pop culture questions. A wrong answer leads to elimination, while each round of questions becomes increasingly difficult - and increasingly hilarious. As the fun escalates and more contestants are eliminated, the remaining two face-off in the final round for a cash prize.
"We're excited to add this homegrown production to E!'s already dynamic lineup," said Catherine MacLeod, Vice-President, Specialty Channels, Bell Media. "We're confident that the fun of POP QUIZ will resonate with our viewers across the country."
"We're extremely excited to partner with E! and bring this game show to a national audience" said Executive Producers Jacquelin Bouchard and Jean Bureau.
Casting is currently underway for a host as well as a judge to confirm the answers to the pop culture questions. Potential contestants and pop-culture junkies are encouraged to visit julescasting.com to audition to be a part of the show.
POP QUIZ is coproduced by Pixcom Production and Incendo in association with E! and Bell Media. Producers are Nicola Merola and Melanie Riendeau. Executive Producers are Jacquelin Bouchard, Sylvie Desrochers, Carole Dufour, Jean Bureau, and Ian Whitehead. Kara Haflidson is Production Executive for Bell Media. Corrie Coe is Senior Vice-President, Independent Production, Bell Media. Catherine MacLeod is Vice-President, Specialty Channels, Bell Media. Rick Brace is President, Specialty Channels and CTV Production. Phil King is President, CTV Programming and Sports.
