Calling on Canadians to create a burger — that'll never work
Rivers Corbett featured in THAT'LL NEVER WORK book published by Penguin Canada
FREDERICTON, March 7, 2012 /CNW/ - ReLISH Gourmet Burgers, Penguin Canada, KPMG Enterprise™ and Startup Canada have joined forces in search of burger ingredients that'll never work together to become known as the THAT'LL NEVER WORK burger.
In recognition of entrepreneur Rivers Corbett being featured in Chapter 12 of the book THAT'LL NEVER WORK, Canadians are invited to submit their ideas for burger ingredients that seemingly would never work at @RelishUs between March 7 and 26.
"Burgers, publishers, business advisers, and entrepreneurs. Who knew these ingredients working in cooperation could become such a successful combination to share stories that benefit entrepreneurs. That's how true entrepreneurship in Canada works. No boundaries!" said Rivers Corbett, Chief Experience Officer for ReLISH Gourmet Burgers.
Proposed burger ingredients must be unconventional or not typical of common burger toppings yet when combined unexpectedly they make a great tasting burger. The winning burger will be unveiled on March 27 and will retail for the following two weeks at every ReLISH Gourmet Burger location in Atlantic Canada. One dollar of every burger sold will be donated to Startup Canada in recognition of entrepreneurship in the country.
"Startup Canada is about celebrating Canadian entrepreneurs and fuelling a groundswell, grassroots movement of entrepreneurs in Canada. Entrepreneurs are the backbone of the Canadian economy and entrepreneurship is a powerful force for driving job creation, innovation, economic growth and fuelling healthy and sustainable communities. Sharing the courage and vision of Canadian entrepreneurs in THAT'LL NEVER WORK and capturing the triumphs and frustrations straight from the source, is not only inspiring to anyone interested to how startups are really created, but also hugely important to inspire would-be entrepreneurs across Canada," explained Victoria Lennox, Co-founder and Executive Director of Startup Canada. "We are so proud to be a part of this program celebrating entrepreneurs and grateful to be named as the beneficiary of the THAT'LL NEVER WORK burger."
"We are thrilled to celebrate the success of a local entrepreneur while also giving back to the community by supporting the important work of Startup Canada," noted Jennifer Clement, Office Managing Partner, KPMG Enterprise in Fredericton. "My hope is that the stories from THAT'LL NEVER WORK will inspire the next generation of entrepreneurs in Atlantic Canada and across the country."
