Twenty students across Canada will each receive up to $70,000 for their visionary initiative
TORONTO, Sept. 16, 2013 /CNW/ - In recognition of tomorrow's leaders, TD Bank Group (TD) is calling for applications for its annual TD Scholarship for Community Leadership. Each year, TD awards 20 young community leaders across Canada, in their final year of high school or CEGEP in Quebec, up to $70,000 for making a difference in their community.
Students who have a minimum overall grade average of 75% in their most recently completed school year, and have demonstrated consistent efforts to better their community are invited to apply for the 2014/2015 school year. Each scholarship covers four years of university or college and includes up to $10,000 per year for tuition, $7,500 for living expenses per year, and guaranteed offers of summer employment at TD.
"At TD, we believe in investing in our future leaders and we are proud to reward those who have volunteered their time and leadership skills to help others or a cause," says Teri Currie, Group Head, Direct Channels, Corporate Shared Services, Marketing & People Strategies, TD Bank Group. "In addition to helping with tuition, the TD Scholarship for Community Leadership offers mentorship and networking opportunities to help students build connections while pursuing a post-secondary education."
Now in its 19th year, the TD Scholarship for Community Leadership has been awarded to 360 recipients, as part of TD's commitment to education and building stronger communities. Applications are available online at www.td.com/scholarship and the deadline to apply is December 6, 2013. All applications and correspondence should be sent by registered mail to:
