Join Thousands of Canadians Across the Country in Support of Make-A-Wish® Canada
TORONTO, May 8, 2017 /CNW/ - The third annual Canadian RVing and Camping Week, a program developed by Go RVing Canada and the Canadian Camping and RV Council, returns this May 23-28, 2017 at select campgrounds from coast-to-coast. As Canada's 150th celebrations continue, Canadian RVing and Camping Week offers the perfect opportunity for Canadians to experience this great land.
With more than one million RVs on the road today, Canadian RVing and Camping Week celebrates RVing and camping in Canada and encourages Canadians to get out and enjoy the outdoors and to experience their Wildhood. Participating campgrounds coast to coast will be offering discounted campsite rates and special events will be taking place throughout the week.
"Our goal is to encourage Canadians to take advantage of the fun and affordable lifestyle that RVing offers, while allowing their inner wildhood to roam free" said Chris Mahony, President, Go RVing Canada. "We're incredibly excited to bring back Canadian RVing and Camping Week for a third year, especially during Canada 150 celebrations. Camping season is officially here."
As part of Canadian RVing and Camping Week, Go RVing Canada and Canadian Camping and RV Council have once again partnered with Make-A-Wish® Canada to help grant wishes for children facing life-threatening medical conditions. To help raise funds for Make-A-Wish, campers are encouraged to book their stays at one of the many participating campgrounds across Canada and to also purchase and fill out Wish Stars. 100 per cent of the proceeds from Wish Stars will be donated to Make-A-Wish.
New this year, campers across Canada will gather on May 27 at dusk, local time, for the largest simultaneous marshmallow roast in support of Make-A-Wish.
"We are delighted to be entering our third year of partnership with Canadian RVing and Camping Week," said Meghan McGill, Senior Manager, Fund Development, Make-A-Wish Canada. "A wish come true brings hope, happiness, and healing to a child and their family. Partners like Go RVing Canada make such a difference. We're proud to be involved in this initiative and are thrilled by the support of campers and RVers across Canada."
Campgrounds across the country are participating in this year's Canadian RVing and Camping Week, with more being added each week. To learn more about Canadian RVing and Camping Week and to find a list of campgrounds near you, visit www.GoRVing.ca or www.ccrvc.ca.
