HALIFAX, July 8, 2019 /CNW/ - As the manager of the largest and most diverse portfolios of real estate in the country, Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) has provided a consolidated accommodation solution to meet the Canada Border Services Agency's (CBSA) needs.
Andy Fillmore, Member of Parliament for Halifax, on behalf of the Honourable Carla Qualtrough, Minister of Public Services and Procurement and Accessibility, today was at the new office building at 263 Susie Lake Crescent to greet CBSA employees and formally welcome them to their workplace. A total of 170 CBSA employees in the region previously occupied office space at three separate locations spread across Halifax. Following a successful procurement process, a new building that meets CBSA's needs was constructed in the Bayers Lake Business Park area of Halifax.
The building has been designed to meet the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold standard, which is consistent with PSPC's commitment to greening the way the federal government works and reducing its carbon footprint. This designation is expected after one year in operation and would be the first Government of Canada accommodation in Atlantic Canada to reach the standard.
